Postmortem



Introduction:

Glide is a complex platformer game that uses a gliding function to traverse a dangerous landscape. Play as a monk on a pilgrimage through a treacherous desert past spikes and cliffs to get to the end and win.

5 things that went right:

Production of the game went very smoothly and was well received by those who played it. We already had a lot of usable assets at our disposal from old projects. We were able to conceive the idea for our game, concepts, and mechanics very quickly and easily. We developed the game at a great pace, having something usable and well received during playtesting. When we showed it during the game expo, some kids couldn’t stop playing.

5 things that went wrong:

There was barely any teamwork between either of use. There were hardly any meetings to talk about what to do so a lot of work was done one sidedly. Some of the assets that were created were left unused do to time. Some code didn’t work properly and caused problems. Most creative decisions were made without consulting the e

What did we learn:

Communication between partners must be constant. Make sure that we pace ourselves and structure the game properly and utilize all things.
