Postmortem


What went right:

Writing the code was surprisingly easy, getting the player to move using local directions and impulse, changing scenes, and getting collectables was very easy to script. We were able to get great sounds to fit our games very quickly. The level curve worked as we included more obstacles and crevices to make collecting the food more challenging. 

What went wrong:

The first issue during the process of this game was that Nicole’s computer broke down at first so she had to rush everything last minute. Then, the return to menu button didn’t work for some reason. Also, sometimes the player did get stuck so they had to wait for a bit that made it boring in some parts. 

Next steps:

The next steps to this project would be to add more environmental obstacles such as different sea creatures as enemies. Also, to make a more cohesive and better developed environment so it is more sea-like. For gameplay, adding a timer would make the game more challenging and fast paced.   We would also make the cuttlefish have a softbody instead of a rigidbody in order for the player to squeeze through crevices in the game to collect the clams.
