The initial ideas of Cuttle Fishin' was actually starting out as an infinite runner, but as we started to discuss how to make the game a different kind of one button rather than a common runner game, we were inspired by Deep Under the Sky. Using the underwater theme, we then discussed what creature we should use as the player, and that turned out to be a cuttlefish because of it's unique color. As we playtested this game, we got good feedback saying that we should make it feel less floating considering it is underwater. We were also suggested to allow the player to actually spin when pressing the buttons rather than waiting it to spin a certain angle. However, we did not incorporate that mechanic.
