Week seven reading response

ch. 3:

goes over the various rules and formats one should make or consider when making a game(like economics, player role, player, other player, and game relation, resources, etc.) basically the whole game format.

response: Consider how my game is structured, is it fun, and does it make sense. does each format fit in the world of the game and if not how to change so it does fit or if the game can function without it.

ch. 10:

goes over symmetrical and asymmetrical games. Symmetrical games both players have the same mechanics and resources. Asymmetrical can go two ways but boils down to neither players having similar mechanisms. it also talks about different things included in asymmetric games to make things fair or more fun(i.e. timelimit).

response: think about how I want my player(s) to interact with the game or other players, do I want it very fair, is it fun like that, or if it would be more fun if it was asymmetrical, is that fun, and how to validate the reason for the difference in power.

ch. 12:

talks about the necessities of a proper game dev team, roles you need to fill, jobs those roles have, etc.

response: when making a team, make sure the first thing we do is determine the team roles and what those roles need to do by such and such time frames. Then check up and make sure everyone is doing their roles fine and if they need help.
