Playtest At BabyCastles 10/14/19

Feedbacks:

  • Terrain is too big
  • There should be a way to guide the players to the creature/ locate the creature within such a big terrain
  • Climbing a tree as mechanic
  • The players can walk faster
  • The mini map is good
  • Creature can leave a trail
  • Journalists move faster/ same speed as creature or have some advantage in order to take picture
  • Creature have another objective beside surviving, e.g. collecting fruits...
  • Creature can glow more when standing still for more than a few seconds to prevent the player from standing still

To do:

  • Add collider for lake & pond
  • Creature become translucent when hiding
  • UI Timer
  • Destroy pictures
  • All players can see the number of pictures the other player have
  • Grass & small bush
  • Ask Teacher:
    • Trees growing & lake rendering before trees
    • UI show up on Camera
    • How to connect the monitor

John’s Feedback:

  • Have traps and camera renewable
  • Tilt the camera to see the horizon
  • Deer has to eat/ collect → deer should have a goal (if survive til sunset, why eat the food)
  • Balance the 2 players abilities
  • Player move faster
  • More useful information on the map
  • Make players encounter each other → attack & defend

  • LOTS OF FEEDBACK (audio & visual etc.)
  • Improving mobility & playability
  • Who is the creature
  • Didn‘t know the creature have to avoid
  • Can place traps on mountains
  • Can move outside of map
  • Creature has separate screen & controller
  • Creature rotate speed is fine
  • Creature can go underwater
  • Steer and walk at the same time
  • Invisible makes creature completely invisible on screen
  • Traps bigger & longer cool down
  • Tree collider --> capsule collider as big as the root system
  • Youtuber faster
  • Get traps back --> destroy after a while
  • Have to be more navigable
  • Put a collider around groups of tree
  • Too easy to get stuck in trees
  • Staying invisible longer (deer feel more powerful)
  • Creature can rush and attack with visual feedback ( have them fly away etc)
  • Have creatures be able to blind the other players for a while (screen turns white)
  • No way for creature to escape after people catches up
  • What kind of forest?
  • Journalists have less visibility than creature
  • Can go under lake
  • Good: antagonistic to each other
  • Range for stealing photo
  • Can pick camera back up
  • Deer gets feedback when picture is taken
  • Be redundant w/ feedback
  • Darker at night & Lighter in the morning
  • Starts with sunset - middle is night - ends with sunrise
  • Cues for time ( audio etc)
  • Deer can mimic itself
  • Turn off halo

NYU

  • Don't call youtuber cams cameras
  • Camera flashlight & sound effects
  • Don't have the triangle cause maybe it will be too easy to find the creature
  • Rotate speed should be faster
  • Put minimap on r1/r2
  • Assign display according to playerNum
  • Maybe the traps shouldn't be visible
  • Maybe a common place for the players to go to to find resources and stuff
  • Can see creature lighting on the minimap
  • See each other on the minimap for journalists
  • Maybe see mushrooms on minimap
  • Have minimap at corner
